La Revista Internacional de Educación Musical (RIEM) invita a los miembros de la Sociedad Internacional de Educación Musical (ISME) a enviar su solicitud para formar parte del Comité Editorial de la Revista. Esta revista arbitrada de carácter anual publica artículos académicos que versen sobre la enseñanza y el aprendizaje de la música con un interés especial hacia su repercusión internacional. El Comité Editorial realiza revisiones mediante el procedimiento de doble ciego de los manuscritos de investigación recibidos para su publicación. El período de pertenencia al Comité Editorial es del 1 de septiembre del 2022 al 31 de julio de 2028.

Requisitos:

1. El solicitante debe ser un miembro de la Sociedad Internacional para la Educación Musical en el momento de la solicitud inicial y mantenerse como tal a lo largo de su período de pertenencia al Comité Editorial. Se espera igualmente su participación activa en las actividades de la ISME (conferencias, seminarios, y / o publicaciones).

2. El solicitante debe ser un/a educador/a musical profesional y de reconocido prestigio, dando evidencias de ello su formación académica y sus publicaciones académicas de alta calidad en la educación musical. Del mismo modo, también es deseable que cuente con experiencia adicional, como su pertenencia a equipos de revisión de otras revistas, la edición/revisión de manuscritos de libros, la supervisión de trabajos de máster y tesis doctorales o investigaciones, etc.

3. Debido a que el idioma principal de esta publicación es el castellano, el solicitante debe ser capaz de leer, escribir y revisar artículos académicos en dicho idioma. La competencia en uno o más idiomas adicionales de la UNESCO (inglés, francés, alemán) o en otras lenguas románicas (portugués en particular) también resulta muy deseable. Esta información debe aportarse en la breve carta de solicitud.

4. El candidato debe tener acceso regular a Internet y facilidad en la comunicación en línea y en el manejo de las herramientas editoriales.

5. El/La solicitante debe entender que éste es un cargo voluntario, que proporciona un importante servicio a la profesión. Es deseable además su asistencia a las reuniones del Comité Editorial en los Congresos Mundiales de ISME, si bien RIEM no puede aportar financiación para ello.

Procedimiento:

Para realizar la solicitud, por favor envíe una carta de solicitud (500 palabras máximo) seguido de un corto curriculum vitae en castellano. Este breve curriculum debe mostrar: 1) la preparación académica del/la candidato/a: titulaciones, instituciones, año; 2) cargos académicos desempeñados; 3) actividad académica en la que se incluya publicaciones, edición y revisión, presentaciones de investigación en los principales congresos nacionales e internacionales; 4) premios o reconocimientos docentes o académicos; 5)  supervisión de tesis e investigaciones, si lo hay; 6) actividades relacionadas para la ISME. Envíe la carta de solicitud y el breve resumen bien en formato Word.doc, formato de texto enriquecido (.RTF) o, preferiblemente, en pdf, y en tamaño DIN A4 (29,7 x 21 cm.). El apellido del solicitante debe estar en el título del archivo (ejemplo: Apellido.doc). El solicitante debe enviar remitir este mensaje a los editores de  RIEM, José Luis Aróstegui Plaza, Guadalupe López Íñiguez y Rosa María Serrano Pastor, y a la Presidenta del Comité de Publicaciones de ISME, Gwen Moore, escribiendo un correo electrónico a riem@isme.org. La documentación debe entregarse antes del 1 de julio del 2022. Si su correo no recibe confirmación de recepción en el plazo de 5 días, por favor, envíe un mensaje de consulta. Además de los requisitos de los solicitantes, la situación geográfica y el idioma serán consideraciones importantes en la selección de los nuevos miembros. El nuevo Comité Editorial será nombrado con efectos desde el 1 de septiembre del 2022.

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR THE REVISTA INTERNACIONAL DE EDUCACIÓN MUSICAL EDITORIAL COMMITTEE

The Revista Internacional de Educación Musical (RIEM: ISSN 2307-4841) invites ISME members to submit an application to serve on the Editorial Committee of this journal. This biannual refereed journal publishes scholarly reports in Spanish that enhance knowledge regarding the teaching and learning of music with a special interest toward an international constituency and of interest and relevance to the international community. The Editorial Committee completes blind reviews of research manuscripts submitted for publication in the Journal and serves in an advisory capacity to the Editor. Applicants must be able to read, write and review scholarly articles in Spanish. Competence in English and in some other Romanic language is very desirable. The term of service will be 1 September 2022 to 31 July 2028.

Qualifications

1. The applicant must be a member of the International Society for Music Education at the time of the initial application and retain membership throughout their term of service. Active involvement in ISME activities (conferences, seminars, and/or publications) is expected.
2. The applicant must be a professional music educator who has recognition as a scholar, as evidenced by academic training and by a record of high-quality scholarly publications in music education. Additional related experience, such as serving on review panels of other journals, editing/reviewing book manuscripts, supervising masters and doctoral thesis/dissertation research, etc., is also desirable.
3. Because the primary language of this publication is currently Spanish, the applicant must be able to read, write, and review scholarly articles in Spanish. Competence in English and in some other Romanic language—Portuguese in particular--is very desirable. This information should be provided in the short letter of application.
4. The candidate should have regular access to, and facility with, on-line communication and editorial tools.
5. The applicant must understand that this is a voluntary position, which provides an important service to the profession. Editorial board members may expect to review 1-2 new submissions per month, plus review of revisions as needed. Attendance at Editorial Committee meetings at the ISME World Conferences is desirable, but RIEM cannot provide any funding for this.

Procedure

To apply, please submit a letter of application (500 words maximum) followed by a short resume, in Spanish. The short resume should list only: 1) academic preparation—degrees, institutions, years; 2) academic positions held; 3) scholarly activity including publications, editing and reviewing, research presentations at major national and international meetings only; 4) teaching or scholarly awards or recognition; 5) thesis and dissertation supervision if any, and 6) ISME activities. Send the letter of application and short resume as one Word.doc or Rich Text Format (.RTF) file, DIN A4 (29.7 x 21 cm.) format. Applicant’s last name should be in the title of the file along with the word Research (example: NameResearcg.doc). E-mail to the Editors of RIEM, José Luis Aróstegui, Guadalupe López Íñiguez and Rosa María Serrano, as well as the Chair of the Publications Committee, Gwen Moore, at riem@isme.org. In addition to qualifications of the applicants, the geographical and language representation of the Editorial Committee as a whole will be important considerations in the selection of new members. The new Editorial Committee will be appointed by 1 of September 2022.
