Lee Higgins, President of ISME, today announced an extended grants program, available for ISME members.
The ISME Grants Program offers multiple grants each year, including sponsored grants that focus on specific themes or regions of the world. ISME grants also vary in the amount and duration of funding provided.
In overview the grants are:
- ISME-NAMM Foundation Community Music Development Grants (up to a total of US12,000; over 1 to 3 years). Two themes: Music Making, Leisure and Wellbeing; and Community Music
- ISME-SEMPRE Music Education Research Grants (up to a total of US$6,000; over 1 to 2 years)
- ISME-Gregory Brown Youth Music Development Grants (up to a total of US$3,000; over 1 to 2 years)
- ISME Project Development Grants (up to a total of US$3,000; over 1 to 2 years)
- ISME Partnership Development Grants (up to a total of US$3,000; over 1 to 2 years)
Lee Higgins announced the grants at a breakfast held at The NAMM Show in Anaheim, California before an audience of international music products associations. NAMM and the NAMM Foundation are long standing supporters of ISME and music education, and ISME was offered a rare invitation to speak at this prestigious industry event to outline its work.
Thanks go to Sempre, also longstanding supporters of ISME. What could be more appropriate than that they sponsor a music education research grant.
